HPC and life sciences
HPC and Big Data has far reaching implications for scientific research far beyond bioinformatics.
With the growth of life science research the need for computational power is increasing expidentially, scientists are turning more and more to HPC and big data to accelerate their simulations.
The push to cloud based computing has been realised due to the need to cluster data centres. Large metropolitian areas are scarce for power intensive systems this has been somewhat of a forced evolution.
To add to this already complicated issue the amount of data that is produced from these systems is vast. This data is needed to suppport research over the long term.
In order to accelate this area of scientific research, scientists requier the ability to have access to unlimited storage and easy access to that data all this will lead to better workflow.
